It’s snowing outside my office window.
My cat is contentedly munching on kibble behind me.
I just got back from a walk in the snow, so the top of my head is wet.
And right after I write this newsletter update, I’m going to crack open my draft of Jude’s book and get some words in!
So, yeah, JUDE update:
By the end of today, I’ll be about 10,000 words into the first draft!
(Cue triumphant trumpet fanfare!) 🎺🎺🎺
If you’ve been reading my newsletter for a while — or if you’re in my Facebook readers’ group, Daphne’s Divas — you know that 2020 was a rough year for me writing-wise.
With all the craziness going on last year, I really struggled to concentrate the way I need to when I’m writing a book.
But so far, it seems like turning the metaphorical page to 2021 has been good for me in terms of being able to be productive!
I’m not sure why, to be honest. It’s not like a ton has changed. But whatever the reason is, I’ll take it. All I know is, I’m not struggling the way I was when I started Striker’s book.
It is definitely bittersweet writing JUDE, though.
I’ve been looking forward to telling this story for a while, so that’s great. But it’s the last book in this original Lords of Carnage series, so it feels really happy-sad, you know?
These guys and their women have become like family to me (and I hope they have to you, too). It feels really weird to know that in just a couple of months, their stories will all have been told.
I do have some plans for you to see some of your favorite characters again when I pick the Ironwood MC series back up.
And, I also have plans for another MC series as well.
And of course, one of these days, it’ll be time for a next generation of Lords of Carnage, starring the kids!
So, never fear, you haven’t seen the last of these guys!
(And of course, you can always re-read them…)
By the way, if you want to preorder Jude and you haven’t done that yet, here’s the link to do so.
(And even though the “official” release date for the preorder is June 30, I have every intention of getting the book out before that.)
Well, that’s about it from me for now.
I hope your 2021 is starting out okay.
I’m sending love and virtual hugs to all of you. 🥰
